Overview

ALLIANCE establishes partnerships with organizations that share its commitment to mediation standards, professionalization, and global recognition. ALLIANCE partnership is structured into three levels, reflecting different degrees of alignment with ALLIANCE’s certification framework:

Alliance Adjunct Partner

LEVEL 1

Organizations committed to high mediation standards and quality, but that do not operate their own programme to certify their panel of mediators.
These partners contribute to shared resources, knowledge exchange, and network support, promoting best practices and advancing mediation globally.
Their mediators are acknowledged as part of an organization that supports Alliance values, but the organization does not certify mediators.

Mediators from these organizations may use the designation Alliance Adjunct Partner Member

Alliance Associate Partner

LEVEL 2

Established mediation organizations that do run their own certification or credentialing programme but choose not to integrate their framework with the Alliance.
They uphold professional standards and endorse the Alliance’s mission while maintaining independent certification systems.

Mediators from these organizations may use the designation Alliance Associate Partner Member

Alliance Certifying Partner

LEVEL 3

Organizations whose mediator certification frameworks are formally aligned and integrated with Alliance standards.
They participate in cross-recognition agreements and ensure that their highest certification level corresponds to the standards set by the Alliance’s founding partners.
Mediators from these organizations may use the designation Alliance Certified Mediator.

At this time, the ALLIANCE does not certify mediators directly as “Alliance Certified.”—only organizations can become ALLIANCE Partners, and cross-recognition is granted through ALLIANCE founding partners or Alliance Certifying Partner (Level 3).
